Everyone likes a bargain. In fact, serious shoppers will scour a radius of many dozens of kilometers around their Lofts Toronto unit looking for that bargain. Some people find their bargains in the sale racks of department stores. Others find theirs at a little known online store. But by far the best and most likely place to find a lot of great bargains all in one place is an outlet mall. If you've never been shopping at an outlet mall, this article should tell you all about them.

What is an outlet mall?

An outlet mall looks just like a regular shopping mall - most of them are indoors and feature dozens or hundreds of separate shops. The difference is that while regular malls sell goods at regular prices, outlet malls are full of shops that sell at a discount. By packing all of the sale items into one place, outlet malls attract people from hundreds of kilometers away who come to stock up on everything from new clothes for school to brand name diapers.

What can I find at outlet malls?

Some discount stores are able to offer discounts on normal prices because their goods are knockoffs rather than brand names. You may find one or two of these stores in an outlet mall but most of the stores will be brand retailers like Roots, Nike, and Ralph Lauren where you can find authentic brand name decor for your London, Ontario townhouses at cheaper prices. The reason these retailers are able to offer discounts is that most of the items are either slightly damaged, from discontinued lines, or from last season's collection.

How cheap are outlet malls?

The amount of savings you'll find at an outlet mall varies from mall to mall, from store to store, and from item to item, but generally most outlet malls claim that their discounts range from about 20% to 80%. To put that into perspective, if you were looking for a lamp for your Toronto real estate you might pay $200 for a brand name item at a regular store, while at an outlet mall a similar band name item might be $160 to $40. When you add that amount of savings onto your entire back-to-school or housewarming expenditure, you're saving enough to go on vacation.

Where can I find an outlet mall?

Outlet malls are usually located in the suburbs of big cities where there is a large catchment pool of customers to draw from and cheap land prices. For example, if you were prepping your home for sale in Arlington, TX you might visit the Premium Outlet Mall in Fort Worth, and if you were shopping from Toronto you might go to the Dixie Mall in Mississauga.
